The Independent Scholar Mentorship Program is designed for students seeking a more individualized and exploratory approach to the biological sciences.

Some students pursue coursework beyond AP Biology. Others want to explore scientific ideas that fall outside traditional classroom structures — from independent scientific inquiry and interdisciplinary projects to science communication, bioart, creative exploration, or biologically grounded science fiction writing.

Rather than following a predefined curriculum, Independent Scholar mentorship adapts to the student’s interests, goals, and intellectual curiosity. 

Through personalized guidance and dynamic scientific conversation, students deepen their understanding of biology while developing intellectual independence, scientific reasoning, and confidence in their own ideas.
